This editorial policy explains how the FFSymbol editorial team chooses symbols and names, checks facts about Free Fire, and corrects mistakes on ffsymbol.com.

Last updated: 5 October 2026.

How we choose symbols and names

  • We pick symbols and name ideas by hand for each page and group them by type or style, so a page is not a raw copy of a long list.
  • Each key symbol is labelled with its official Unicode name and code point (for example ♛ BLACK CHESS QUEEN, U+265B).
  • Glyphs are published byte-for-byte as they are: we do not strip marks or swap symbols for look-alikes.
  • We leave out names that are sexual, hateful, insulting, that impersonate real people or official accounts, or that promote cheating.

How we test

We draw every symbol with Google’s Noto fonts in the Chrome browser, the fonts most Android phones use, and remove or flag characters that show as empty boxes. Colour emoji depend on the phone’s emoji set, so we say so where they appear. We do not have access to test every name inside Free Fire one by one; when a page says a rule was “checked”, it names the game version and date, and the source is the game’s own behaviour reported by players and official notes.

Game facts and dates

Facts that can change with an update — the 12-character name limit, which space character is accepted, rename costs — are written with the game version or the date we checked them, such as “OB55, September 2026”. When Free Fire releases a new version we review the pages that mention it.

Sources

We rely on the Unicode Standard for character names and codes, on the official Free Fire game and its patch notes for game rules, and on our own tests for how symbols render. We do not copy text or lists from other symbol websites.

Corrections

If something on FFSymbol is wrong, email [email protected] with the page link and what should change. We check the claim, fix the page when it is wrong, and update the date on the page. Names submitted by visitors are reviewed before they appear and can be removed on request.

Independence

FFSymbol is not affiliated with Garena and is not paid to feature any name, guild or player. More about the team is on the About FFSymbol page.
